Year 2 are Inspired by being Outside
Innovation was the key word this week in Year 2.
We all loved innovating our own stories using the story of the Enormous Crocodile as our inspiration. We travelled around the globe, from savannas and tropical islands to dark and gloomy caves. These adventures were filled with secret plans and clever tricks even more dastardly than the ones in the original story. The children loved creating their own stories, which were very imaginative and exciting to read.
Our imagination was also exercised when we put all our science knowledge to good use as we built miniature gardens. Many of these had a beautiful zen quality, as the children used a wide variety of stones, shells, bark and other small natural objects to build their gardens. We then sprinkled them with grass seed. The children are in complete charge of these and will be encouraged to tend their gardens over the coming weeks. The sunny weather inspired us to draw and paint delicate seaside scenes which had us all discussing things we like to do in the sunny weather!
