Rumpelstiltskin writes to Year 2!

A very interesting letter appeared in Year 2 this week. It came from a rather grumpy character called Rumpelstiltskin. To our surprise after he had disappeared through the hole in the floor at the palace, he went all the way to India!

He wouldn’t tell us how he did it and then came the next shock. He told us all that the straw was enchanted and because Lily had broken her promise to him, all the gold in the kingdom would turn to straw. We decided we needed to help Lily and wrote a reply to Rumpelstiltskin. Oh, my goodnesst, Rumpelstiltskin has got so many thoughtful and kind friends in Year 2! He was invited to parties, museums, sleep overs, holidays and also offers of support and friendship. Rumpelstiltskin was not the only one to visit India this week.

We have travelled the Asian continent and focussed on a small village near the Nilgri Hills called Chembakolli. We have seen that their school is very different from our classroom. All the children are taught together, whatever their age and everyone learns the same topics. Daily life in this village is very different from our lives and we have been making comparisons to life in England.
