Year 2 Experimented with Chocolate!

Year 2 loved having Mummies, Daddies and even Grandads in the classroom this week and our ‘Stay and Learn’ session on Wednesday morning was enjoyed by us all.

We were able to be ace newspaper reporters and share with our families all the knowledge we have about the historic event. Many of us also used QR codes around the classrooms to access information about the Great Fire and Samuel Pepys.

To make sure we had enough energy to get through the week we used chocolate in our science lesson experiment. The chocolate was used to demonstrate that a material can change from a solid to a liquid then back to a solid. We used heat to change the state of the chocolate and discussed that these changes can also happen with a liquid- for example using ice. Of course, we got to eat the experiment to secure our knowledge and understanding.
