Year 1 Ended Their Week on a Very Festive Note!
Year 1 enjoyed finishing off the last part of their English on “The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark” by recreating the story and making up their own characters for Plop to meet.
We had horses, unicorns and fireflies to name a few! The children thought of incredible words to describe the dark, including ‘magnificent’, ‘special’, and ‘important’.
In maths, we have been looking at different coins and finding out how much they are worth, a strange but valuable concept in today’s world. We also enjoyed making Christingles in RE, developing our understanding of different Festivals of Light following on from learning about Hannukah.
This week’s showstopper was indeed our Nativity. The children were so brave and confident on stage and we are very proud of them!
