Poetry has been flowing in the Year 2 classrooms this week
We started the week being able to share all the hard work we do in the classroom.
On Monday morning we had many Mummies, Daddies, and lovely Grannies in to see us hard at work developing our own Island map. We drew on our ideas from the Katie Morag stories we had heard and used our growing knowledge of human and physical features. The maps we developed had airports, volcanos, piers, and harbours to name just a few of the features the children chose to use. The dark mornings have not spoilt our days as we have really enjoyed playing outside in the sunny weather that seems to be appearing later in the day. Lots of exciting imaginary games have been played with our friends during these playtimes. Poetry has been floating around the classrooms as we cultivate our poetry writing. We have started with topics close to our hearts. The seasons and food! We really enjoyed writing class poems and sharing our ideas.
