Nursery want to know would you rather be a Mermaid or a pirate?
The Dragonflies and Ladybirds have been looking at two stories, 'The Mermaid Singer' and 'The Night Pirate'.
During circle-time, all the children discussed whether they would like to be a Mermaid or a Pirate. They then created themselves as either of the characters by drawing around their bodies, cutting them out and painting them in their favourite colours. This week, the Butterflies have been busy searching for treasure on ‘Treasure Island’. The children created telescopes and treasure chests to help them on their quest to find some golden treats. They then made their own maps, coming up with some excellent, imaginative obstacles, to defeat on the way. What an exciting way to finish a year full of fun and adventure. On Wednesday, we celebrated the Ladybirds and Butterflies achievements of the year during their prize giving ceremony. We finished the week with a Teddy Bear's picnic before heading home for the summer holidays.
The children have grown in their learning and development across all areas of learning. They have shone as individuals, and we are so incredibly proud of each of them. We wish all our Nursery families a safe and happy Summer!
