Support From Our Community and School.
Life has a habit of throwing curveballs and challenges our way when we least expect it, and this week was an example of that. Along with the catastrophic flash floods, we are aware that challenges present themselves in all forms and can be difficult times for all the family.
In times of stress, school helps to play a stabilising role for children, maintaining the routines and boundaries that they seek even more at these times, and providing a familiar environment and routine throughout the day. We are so lucky to have a community that supports us as a school and also each other, so please do draw upon myself, the teachers or the wider community if times are tough.
If there is anything we can do to support you or your child/ren, please do contact myself or the class teachers, even if it is something as small as providing after-school- care so that your children are looked after and have a hot meal and to give you more time to sort things out. We also have our wonderful, professional school counsellors who are able to provide emotional support through play therapy if ever your child needs additional support, in the same way that we would put in place extra help for children requiring additional academic support.
We send our deepest sympathies to our families and friend affected by the recent flash floods, and hope everyone is now safe. You are in our thoughts.
With best wishes,
Miss Strugnell
