It's Been a Week Full of Activities For Pre-Prep, Read Miss Strugnell's Round Up of the Week Here!
It has been wonderful to welcome the children back into school this week and what a week it has been!
The children have been busy bees with Reception visiting Somerset Rural Life museum, Nursery inviting their parents into school for a PE session and lots of wonderful learning taking place both in and out of the classroom.
Next Thursday we will be celebrating World Book Day! The children are invited to dress up as their favourite character from a story and bring a £1 donation for the National Literacy Trust; a charity that supports the UK's most disadvantaged communities, improving the standard of reading, writing, speaking and listening skills. We encourage children to create their costume rather than purchasing one, however if any families do have dressing up costumes that your children have grown out of, we would be very grateful if you would like to donate them to school for someone else to enjoy wearing. Mrs Millard will have a stall next Wednesday after school if anyone would like to take advantage of our swap shop, helping to reduce clothing waste. We also have Hannah Thomas, author of “Archie’s Apple”, coming into school to share her wonderful book and talk to the children about being an author. If you would like your child to have a signed copy of the book, please contact Mrs Hunter ([email protected]) to arrange.
Next week, we also have Parents Evenings for most classes and please do contact your child’s teacher if you have not yet made an appointment. It is a wonderful opportunity for you to see your child’s work and celebrate their achievements so far this term.
I wish you a lovely weekend.
Best wishes,
Hannah Strugnell
