The Evil Pea Is Still On The Loose In Reception - The Children Have Decided To Act!
They have been busy designing traps, using clues from the story to think about bait and they have then written instruction booklets on ’How to catch an Evil Pea’. Can we trap him under a net, using a cupcake to tempt him? What about a biscuit crumb trail to a wobbly jelly where he gets stuck? Or will this mini-monster continue to elude us?
Continuing with our vegetable theme, the children have looked at the work of Giuseppe Arcimboldo this week and have created some amazing portraits using a variety of fruits and vegetables. We especially liked how he showed the different times of year using seasonal produce. In maths we explored the playground looking for examples of 3d shapes, it was lovely to hear the children using mathematical language to describe what they had found and to see them supporting each other when shapes like a ‘sphere’ were tricky to locate. Another busy week! Please do let us know if you spot a pea!
