Year 2 Had a Wonderful Visit from Mr Stok!
The wet weather didn’t dampen our spirits this week. The children in Year 2 have enjoyed writing their own stories using their story writing knowledge to develop their own creative ideas.
Mr Stok came to visit the children this week to share his vast historical knowledge about Remembrance. He arrived in the classroom dressed as a WW1 Medic. The children were fascinated by the range of artefacts they were able to see and handle. Bayonets from the battlefield, helmets wore by the fighting men on both sides of the war. We found out why there are different coloured poppies red, purple for animals and white. The children discovered that many different animals helped in the campaign from horses to glow worms. It was a very informative afternoon.
