Nursery Discover All Things Winter This Week
The children have been busy in Nursery this week finding out about Winter.
We began the week listening to our topic story 'One Snowy Night' and met all of Percy the Park Keepers animal friends, the children even thought about their own endings to the story. The children explored mixing winter colours adding glitter and sequins on foil instead of paper, they had lovely messy hands after!
In Mathematics, Miss Wadman, Mrs Dawson and I needed help sorting all our winter clothing into size. The children placed hats into big/small, gloves into biggest/smallest and scarves into longest/shortest. Towards the end of the week, the children became scientist and investigated how to make ice but also how they can make ice melt. Together in groups the children predicted that the hot water would melt the ice the quickest but also discovered salt melts ice.
