Year 1 learn about bones from an orthopedic surgeon

PrePrep

We had a very special visitor in Year 1 this week. Our Science topic this term has been ‘Ourselves and Our Bodies’ and Millie’s father, who is an orthopaedic surgeon, came to talk to us about his work.

He brought us proper theatre hats and masks to wear and explained to the children how various joints and bones in the body work. The children were also able to try on a sling and to practise walking with crutches. Mr Chambler very kindly answered our questions too.
