Year 1 science investigations out and about...

In Year 1 Science, we have been thinking about “Life Processes” and learning about the characteristics of living and non-living things. As part of this topic we have also been finding out about plants. We went for a walk round the school campus, exploring in particular the immediate area around the Pre-Prep, and we stopped to draw some of the plants we found growing there.

We had a busy afternoon sowing seeds! We have planted cress and both broad and runner beans. We have set up simple experiments to see if sunflowers can grow successfully if they are deprived of light, water and air.
