Year 1 trip to Stourhead
Earlier this week, Year 1 spent the day at Stourhead exploring St Peter's Church and visiting the gardens.
In the morning we visited the church as part of our R.E. work and learnt about its history. The children were able to discover some of the special feature of this beautiful building and then they were very happy to spend time sketching them.
After lunch we followed the paths and walked right round the lake, looking for signs of spring and enjoying all the beautiful structures and sights along the way. We made a collection of natural things during our journey, admired the plants and trees, explored the Grotto, and finally climbed up the hill through the Rock Arch to find the Temple of Apollo and a truly wonderful view!
