Boarders' trip to Bristol Aquarium
The boarders once again had a fantastic weekend of fun, adventure and activity including a trip to Bristol Aquarium on Sunday - particularly timely as the children had been fired up about marine biology by the Blowfish's highly entertaining lecture last Wednesday.
Saturday afternoon was spent playing sport in school matches, or enjoying the usual range of activities on offer within school with friends. We woke up on Sunday to a gorgeous winter’s day. After a warming breakfast, it was quickly into Chapel and then we embarked in minibuses for a day’s trip to the Bristol Aquarium. With appetites whetted by the Blowfish talk, we enjoyed seeing a fantastic array of marine life. Favourites included a family of seahorses, the huge tank of rays and sharks and jellyfish - the latter two of which had featured highly in the Blowfish's lecture!
The overwhelming favourite part, however, was the demonstration of feeding fish. We all gathered in the Amazonian section to be given a talk about the various fish in the tank and watched them being fed. After a quick visit to the gift shop, we piled back in the minibuses and back to school, full of stories of the weird and wonderful world we had just seen.
