An Action Packed Weekend for our Active Boarders
After our first full week back at school, the boarders enjoyed some time to relax and be together.
As always, Sunday started with a full English breakfast. This is a time when they can share what films they watched and what tuck they enjoyed on Saturday! After breakfast, everyone headed to letter writing. The children are always excited to receive letters during the week, and writing them is a way they can share what they have been up to. Then the first session of the day started: Nerf Wars in the sports hall, ducking and diving behind barriers, onto mats, and even a Nerf version of capture the flag was enjoyed. The swimming pool was open for a free swim, with floats and woggles and music. For those who wanted a slower pace, some went blackberry picking with Willow the dog. It was hard to decide who enjoyed eating the blackberries more! As the weather continued to be good, we sat outside for a picnic and continued to enjoy the outdoors. The afternoon session was all about speed! Three activities the children had to complete: go-kart racing, remote control car racing, and Mario Kart. All of these were timed and then averaged, with the winner being announced at supper. In the late afternoon, Rev Bev came to take chapel for us, and the children loved to hear his message. As the day ended, the smell of roast dinner wafted across the site, and we all sat down for a delicious roast. It was a wonderful weekend.
