The First In-Weekend of the Term for Our Boarders
This past weekend marked the first weekend of the school year for the boarders, and it could not have been a better start to the year.
The day began with a full English breakfast, the perfect fuel for a day packed with fun. Afterwards, the boarders headed to chapel for an engaging session with Mr Shaw, followed by a peaceful period of letter writing.
Once letters were ready for posting, the boarders were eager for activities, and the variety was fantastic! Laser tag offered a thrilling battle of stealth and strategy, while the climbing wall challenged the boarders to scale new heights. Some enjoyed a friendly game of touch rugby, while others got creative with biscuit decorating or cooled off with a splash in the swimming pool. Cricket enthusiasts had a chance to bowl and bat, while those interested in the arts joined in on drama and improv games filled with laughter. Speed lovers zoomed around in go-karts, and the face painting station transformed some boarders into a variety of animals, from hedgehogs to crocodiles and unicorns.
After lunch, the entire boarding community gathered at the Dog Gates for the traditional boarding photo, filled with smiles and playful poses. The afternoon saw another round of activities, including capture the flag, art, and more go-karting. Just as we were in the middle of our activities, the unmistakable sound of an ice cream van arrived. Everyone enjoyed cones topped with sprinkles, chocolate sauce, and more—an ideal treat for the day!
As the evening approached, we wound down with films in the boarding house, relaxing after a packed and fulfilling day. Overall, it was the perfect way to kick off the boarding year, and we are all looking forward to the many weekends ahead!
