Prep Boarding

On Sunday morning, Hazlegrove boarders had the honour of joining other members of the community in the Remembrance Service in the centre of Bruton.

We started our walk behind the King’s Bruton band, along with the local primary school representatives and Bruton scouts. The service, prayers and the laying of the wreaths was incredibly moving and Lily and Noah R were asked to lay the wreath on behalf of Hazlegrove pupils. A real sense of community, respect and reflection was evident during the walk through the town, as well as the moments of silence and words shared during the service.

After lunch, we headed out for an entirely different event – bowling and fun at the arcade. There was a high sense healthy competition on the bowling alley, which saw some scores of over 100, and many under it – clearly the sides being up not being overly helpful to many of us!

Then it was time for pocket money and fun in the arcade – many tickets were won for prizes and huge support for Mr. Froggatt, as he did his absolute best to win a unicorn for his daughter. It was really wonderful to see games at the arcade being played by junior and senior pupils together – really adding to the sense of fun and community amongst the boarders.

Letter writing once back at School rounded off a really poignant, bonding and enjoyable weekend for our Hazlegrove boarders.
