Boarding is great fun as the boarders enjoyed a jam-packed weekend of a woodland walk, bowling and adventure park - all topped off with some yummy food!

The best laid plans! The usual Sunday breakfast feast was waiting for us as we rolled out of bed. Just as we were tucking in we were rudely disturbed by the fire alarm! Toast rather charred but no other dramas.

Then off to chapel where Mr Robertson reminded us that "every contact leaves a trace", the way we are with other people has an effect and so we must think about the way we interact with family, friends and strangers. Rousing hymns from Miss Sayles too.

The original plan was to go to @Bristol. Luckily, while we were checking the route, we discovered rather a few roads around Bristol were highlighted red and seemed to be closed. A quick Google and we found out that it was the Bristol half marathon!  It was time for Plan B as no-one fancied hours stuck in traffic. We wanted to get on and do something.

So we set off for Alfred's Tower near Stourhead where King Alfred raised his army to fight the Danes. A lovely woodland walk lead by Mr Birch, lots of interesting nature and quite a lot of football/rugby activity.

A delicious lunch followed - yummy soup - then we piled on the minibuses and set sail for Yeovil. From the best of rural Wiltshire to thumping disco music in the bowling alley. Highly competitive bowling, well done to all the winners and we also squeezed in a trip to the really rather brilliant park down the road from the alley.

Back to school for letter writing and a delicious roast supper. What a day!  Not exactly what we were all expecting when we woke up in the morning but great fun and the children were super company. They deserve great credit for entering into the spirit of things and going with the flow!
