A trip to the Fleet Air Arm Museum for the boarders
What a treat when one’s expectations are not only met but exceeded…
We piled into the buses and headed off down the road to The Fleet Air Arm Museum – and what a treat! The children were absolutely enthralled by all that was on display. We had 11 adults accompanying the children which meant they had their very own personal tour guides! After the walk around, we had lunch at the museum and descended on the play park.
We headed back to school in fine (singing) spirits and after letter-writing and rest, we tackled the afternoon’s activities on offer. Some children baked aeroplane-shaped biscuits, others danced the afternoon away, while others swam for what seemed like hours – amazing how children don’t get tired of being in the water. There was also football on the Bastion and aeroplane making and flying competitions. Oh, and we have 11 little quails that have hatched over the weekend too!
Earlier in the day the boarders had been treated to an outstanding chapel service, compliments of Mrs Hughes. Her sermon was thought-provoking and challenging and made the children reflect on all that they had heard and seen over the last week’s amazing Sustainability-themed festival – the EarthWYZ festival.
Supper was a scrumptious lamb roast…what a fitting way to end a busy and enjoyable day.
