A busy weekend and success for our runners and Judo boys
Last weekend, children were representing Hazlegrove across the country with our runners in Malvern and our Judo boys in High Wycombe.
Cross-country running
Twenty-one Hazlegrove athletes travelled to Malvern to compete in the 25th annual National Prep Schools Cross Country Finals - a prestigious event on the cross country calendar that in some races saw fields of 343. In total 1200 athletes from 90 schools across the country all descended on Malvern College. It was a very competitive day with some superb performances.
Our senior girls team finished in an incredible 3rd place overall - narrowly losing out to Cheam and the Dragon School. Fred Fisher was our highest placed individual coming a very creditable 10th overall in the senior boys race.
Team placing’s were as follows:
- Junior Girls - 24th out of 50 schools
- Junior Boys - 15th out of 61 schools
- Senior Girls - 3rd out of 27 schools
- Senior Boys - 10th out of 38 schools
Judo
The day before, three Hazlegrove boys travelled to High Wycombe to compete in the National IAPS Judo Finals.
All three competed well in their respective categories and congratulations to Joe C for finishing 3rd and picking up the bronze medal.
Well done everyone!
