All things 'Star Wars' for the Hazlegrove boarders...
In anticipation for the new Star Wars film release on 17th December, this last weekend at Hazlegrove was officially themed all things 'Star Wars'. An impromptu chapel service from Mr Bartlett was followed by some Jedi Calligraphy in the shape of handwritten letters home.
The seniors were introduced to their Jedi Laser Guns, some seriously heavy machinery. Realistic sound effects and cries of joy/help rung out from the woods as the teams battled for supremacy. The Rebels overcame the Allies. Meanwhile, our young Padawans were put to the test on an assault course in the Sports Hall. The remainder did some Star Wars Lego animation, Darth Baking and Jabba Painting.
In the afternoon, some Ewok Laser battles commenced in the woods whilst the older children pitted their knowledge of the Force against one another in a Senses test. Boba Fett Hunt provided further entertainment as the Jedi's hunted down the disgruntled Dark Side! Eventually an exhausted Hazlegrove Galaxy retired to the Theatre to watch 'Return of the Jedi' or bathe their weary souls in the Hot Swamps of the Dagoba Pool.
A good weekend had by all.
