Year 7 are unmasked on stage
It was a delight to see so many pupils in one year group perform to such a high standard in their show 'Unmasked' last week. Each and every 59 members of the cast delivered their sketches, monologues, poems and dance routines with such enthusiasm and sophistication.
The production started with the Year 7 children all appearing the same with their masks on, feeling the need to conform to expectations and not daring step out of line. As the evening progressed, the children gradually revealed themselves and their emotions as they performed until they were all unmasked, clearly happy to be able to be themselves. This was particularly apt as it is a sentiment that is truly embedded within the Hazlegrove ethos.
"They are a truly talented bunch and they should be extremely pleased with their achievements in drama this term." says Mrs Arnold, Head of Drama and Dance.
