Boarders' weekend including trip to Home Farm Festival
The perfect Prep School weekend. Glorious sunshine, fabulous team spirit, joviality in bucket loads and a healthy competitive spirit accompanied by natural sportsmanship. Sports Day went off with a bang followed by a fun afternoon of fathers and mothers pitting their sporting prowess against their Year 8 off-spring. The playing fields were a scene of perfect English finery. Strawberries and cream, cucumber sandwiches, a cup of tea and leather against willow!
On Sunday, we spent the morning appreciating our facilities. Most of the boarders happily spent their time on the fields either water sliding, rip sticking, cycling, catching a ball or simply having a good old natter with one another. In the afternoon, we went to the Home Farm Festival, an annual event organised by School in a Bag. The music was perhaps a desired taste but there was plenty to do and the children had a fabulous time. The highlight was the ‘Bug Tent’ which entertained many of them with some nasty creepy crawlies and rather large looking snakes. Some said it was, ‘the best day ever’!
