Boarding

Easter-feasting, bonnet-making, Blowfishing, Bugfesting and jiving with the Johnsons - what a week our boarders have had!

STEM Fest was a great success and our boarders were lucky enough to attend a few evening sessions with the highlight being the Blowfish. He calls himself a heavy metal marine biologist and he lived up to the billing. His delivery was extraordinary and very memorable. He challenged us to look after our oceans as they are a so integral to life on Earth. Quiz night was weird, wacky and full of fun.

By the time Saturday night came along we were all quite exhausted by the events of the week but this did not dampen our enthusiasm at all. The Easter Feast was an explosion of colour and creativity. Our catering team produced yet another culinary masterpiece. The Johnsons gave us a great rendition of our favourite country and western tunes.

We were greeted with the most glorious weather on Sunday. It felt like we were in the Canary Islands! A great chapel by Mrs Hughes reminded us that we should forgive one another and put us in the right frame of mind for the day.

The hum of the go-karts and screams of joy playing stoolball filled the air during the morning. Some of the children opted to be more creative and decided to make Bunny Bunting and create some great Mother's Day gifts. In the Jubilee Wood many "ooos" and "aahs" could be heard as arrows were hitting the middle of targets - so much so that William Tell would have been proud. Lots of the children just relaxed enjoying the amazing weather either kite flying or just riding a bike.

The Easter Bunny came to visit and much fun was had running around finding Easter Eggs hidden in the Pre-Prep. The Year 8s took advantage of the lovely weather and went on a woodland walk around Lytes Cary. Fresh air and good company - what more could anyone want?

A great way to end a very busy term! Sun, friends, beautiful grounds, exciting activities and committed staff are just some of the ingredients that make Hazlegrove a great boarding community!
