Hazlegrove EU Referendum Debate
With a little arm twisting, it was with much excitement and anticipation we welcomed to Hazlegrove our panel for the HZG Question Time. Powerful, knowledgeable and perhaps a little opinionated, we packed the theatre with parents and senior pupils to listen to a divided panel of parents and staff representatives. Vincenzo Capazoli, Amelia Were, Lucinda Lambourne, Andrew Lane, Quentin Edwards and Greg Blunden made up our panel. Mr Edwards took on the role of Chairman aka Jonathan Dimbleby.
The evening was an outstanding success informing us all of the arguments on both sides. A few hand bags were thrown but in the interests of democracy and British values we were all well behaved. The audience listened with intent the various views offered in response to a selection of impressive and well informed questions posed by children and parents.
The audience appeared split when asked for a show of hands but a private ballot later revealed the 'ins' still remain in front by 53% to the 'outs' 47%.
Politics, debate and argument are alive and well at Hazlegrove. The evening far exceeded expectations and much fun was had by all. We now look forward to the whole school vote next week.
