Boarders' Easter In Weekend fun
With a free Saturday afternoon in front of us, everyone had the perfect opportunity to create the best Easter Bonnet ever. The Art room was packed as was the Sports Hall with a busy badminton doubles tournament. A trip went up to King’s Bruton to watch their 1st XI beat Exeter College whilst the Bastion and Theatre were well occupied.
The Easter Feast was a tremendous evening. A rainbow of colours filled the dining room whilst the table decorations and flowers gave a real air of Spring and Easter. The traditional chicken kiev did not disappoint followed by the most exquisite Baked Alaska! The judging was done by Mrs Fawbert which quite frankly was a rotten job as there simply were not enough categories to go round and reward the stupendous effort made by all the children and staff. The winner turned out to be Bertie W. Following dinner, we were treated to a medley of popular music by Stephen Marquis. The children loved it and danced merrily on the theatre floor, singing passionately through their favourite songs. The evening was then capped off with a brilliant win and Grand Slam for England.
Sunday saw Mr Shaw give us a profound Easter message in Chapel and spurred the children to write their best letters home yet. Standards are on the increase! Thereafter, the school was awash with Easter Egg Hunts, creative Easter activities and Nerf wars! The afternoon saw a trip out to Cadbury Castle, a mega Manhunt, a trip to South Barrow playpark, Two Football, badminton singles, Capture the Flag and other activities.
All in all, another entertaining and fun ‘In Weekend’ was had by all.
