Year 8 Printmaking
Year 8 have been using everyday objects to develop their drawing, collage and printmaking skills.
Pupils have looked at examples of cubism and the still-life work of Ben Nicholson. They have made compositions using positive and negative shapes cut from coloured paper and then set about translating this into a linocut. Pupils are enjoying the satisfying (but tricky!) process of carefully gouging away the lino and then experimenting printing the block with different colours and surfaces. I look forward to seeing how their finished prints turn out!
