Prep Boarding

On Sunday 6th November, Mr Shaw and Mr Forbes led the boarders on a fabulous trip to Wookey Hole, near Cheddar Gorge.

We had a spookily eery time going down into the depths of many cavernous caves with the Wookey Witch close behind. Zef our guide entertained us with stories of how the caves were discovered by incredibly brave divers back in 1925 and how the Victorians would entertain in the caves, creating fires and leaving behind sooty stains on the sides. We were shocked to hear how one Victorian  gentleman shot down the largest stalactites in order to take them home as souvenirs for his home.  We were truly amazed by the many rock formations, the depth of the river,  the stalagmites and stalactites in the form of Jabba the Hut and the witch's familiar in the form of a dog. On leaving the caves, we wandered back in time and took pictures with TRex and King Kong. We acted as archeologists sifting through sand to uncover skeletal remains of dinosaurs found in the region. After lunch, we let off steam in the soft play which was more akin to a huge adventure playground indoors, and tried to lose ourselves in the mirror maze. Magic. Finally, we were treated to a spectacular show by young gymnasts training at the circus school. It was an amazing day and we thank Mr Forbes and his team for such an incredible experience.
