Year 5 Enjoyed a Super Exciting ‘Escape Room’ Maths Lesson
From locked boxes to mysterious phone calls, drinks cabinets to video messages, Mrs Thomas’ maths set put their brains to work, endeavouring to escape a series of different rooms.
Beginning in Mr Jenkins classroom, they used teamwork and Napier’s Bones to solve multiplication problems before heading over to Mrs Spilsbury’s room where they needed knowledge of the 24-hour clock. In Mrs Thomas’ room their solutions gave them a phone number which they rang and received a very cryptic message. The final room saw them needing to turn television dials to the right number to receive a video message that enabled them to escape to freedom and out of Mrs Thomas’ maths lesson!
