Year 3 Study Patrick Heron in Art
Year 3 has been getting busy in art, creating work inspired by the theme of windows.
Pupils have studied Patrick Heron's 'Harbour Window with Two Figures', and made continuous line drawings in this style using the expansive art room window as a starting point. We then looked at some of Picasso's Cote D'Azur paintings which feature lots of primary and secondary colours, so this was a great opportunity for them to practise their colour mixing skills. The window theme ties in nicely with the book they have been studying in class, simply titled Window, by Jeannie Baker. This amazing picture book is full of intricate collages and the pupils themselves will be making their window collage in the weeks ahead.
