Year 8 Take a Geography Field Trip to Lulworth Cove
We had an absolutely beautiful day’s weather, thankfully, for our Year 8 field trip to Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove!
It was sunny all day, with hardly any wind at all, and I think it’s fair to say that everyone enjoyed themselves a lot! It was a busy day, throughout our time there, we investigated our fieldwork question: “Are tourists damaging the landscape around Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door?”
We collected a wealth of data to help answer this question, from measuring footpath erosion (using tape measures and metre rules) to landscape evaluation surveys. Pupils designed questionnaires beforehand and asked members of the public their questions, which was a great experience for them. The next step is to produce graphs on Excel, based on the data we have, and write up the results.
