Hazlegrove's Inaugural Fete, Flower and Dog Show
On Friday, May 24, The Friends of Hazlegrove hosted our inaugural Fete, Flower and Dog Show on the school’s idyllic front lawn.
There was an impressive array of homegrown entries into the Flower Show with some beautiful blooms, homegrown vegetables and a colourful selection of home-produced eggs. A huge thank you to Mr Hurt and PlantWorld for sponsoring and judging the Flower Show.
For some good-natured fun, fete-goers had the chance to put Hazlegrove staff members in the stocks. Armed with wet sponges, they aimed for laughter rather than accuracy. A refreshing way to cool off on a sunny day! Children and their families had the chance to guess the age of Trevor the Tortoise, enjoy some traditional games and stalls, and fill up on the wonderful cream teas produced by our fantastic catering team and thank you to Sipsmith for the kind donations to the bar.
The highlight of the afternoon was undoubtedly the Dog Show, led by ex-Hazlegrovian Charlotte Baker, an England International Agility Handler. Our children proudly showcased their four-legged friends, and the judges had a tough job picking the winners! Certainly, every participant deserved a waggiest tail award!
The Friends of Hazlegrove truly outdid themselves, creating a memorable day for all, we are looking forward to next year already.
