The Junior Maths Challenge at Hazlegrove

On Thursday morning,  our eager pupils in Years 7 and 8, and the top maths group in Year 6, competed in the extremely popular national maths competition, the Junior Maths Challenge.

Alongside over 100 000 maths pupils, up and down the country, they pitted their mathematical wits against 25 tricky maths word problems which tested them across the full range of the math syllabus and beyond. In this era of rapid global change, the world needs capable and efficient problem solvers who can cope well under pressure and it lovely to see our oldest pupils rising so superbly to this challenge.
