Delicious Ice Cream on the Beach For Our Boarders In Weekend
The boarders made the most of the glorious sunshine this weekend.
After a hearty cooked breakfast on Sunday morning, they set off to Weymouth beach, smothered in sun cream, with hats and spades at the ready. Just moments after arriving, there were already games of beach cricket, touch rugby, a furious hole digging competition (they didn’t quite manage to fill the hole completely with water!), sandcastle building and mermaid people sculpting, all in full flow.
The temperature of the water was a bit of a shock for some of the children, but this didn’t stop their fun in the shallows as some chose to dip their toes. Some bolder children (and Gaps!) took a more headfirst approach to the freezing water. Luckily, I believe for the first time ever, our picnic lunch was uninterrupted by seagulls which was an added bonus.
The children enjoyed a delicious ice cream on the beach later that afternoon, which included the discovery of a new flavour – ‘guanabana’. If you are a lover of the drink Lilt, this one is for you.
After arriving back at school, the children enjoyed some free time before Mr Beverly led everyone in a reflective chapel service. A scrumptious roast dinner rounded the day off perfectly.
