An Evening of Superb Ensemble and Choir Performances.
Last Friday, Hazlegrove and King’s Bruton musicians joined forces for truly memorable concert.
Held in the glorious Hauser and Wirth Concert Hall, within King’s Queen Elizabeth Music School, parents were treated to an evening of superb ensemble and choir performances. Hazlegrove’s Brass Ensemble opened the concert with a Welcome Fanfare, before the Joint Orchestra, Big Band and Concert Band performed music from Wagner to The Avengers. Hazlegrove’s Strings, Voices and Year 8 Band followed with an impressive display of skill and musicality, with King’s Saxophone Ensemble and Chamber Choir displaying how skills learnt at prep level are elevated to new heights in the Senior school. The evening ended with a fitting tribute to King Charles III, as Hazlegrove and King’s Joint Orchestra and Choir performed a stunning rendition of Handel’s Zadok the Priest.
Mrs Sclater would like to thank all those who supported our children last Friday. The warmth and enthusiasm displayed by the audience allowed the children to perform to their very best, and made for a memorable evening for all
