A Wonderful Weekend of Activities For Boarders!
The day started in the usual fashion with a fabulous full English breakfast with sausages, bacon, black pudding, and hash browns which really set the tone for what was to be a lovely day. The weather was a gorgeous winter’s day, cold and frosty but the sun shining bright.
A quick turnaround from breakfast and we boarded the minibuses. We were off to Bristol for a bouncing endurance test at ‘Airhop’! An amazing place filled with hundreds of trampolines with various challenges, including dodgeball, basketball, reaction testing, augmented reality and handball. The children tested their skills on the time assault course but struggled to beat the speedy times set by Mr Froggart and Mr Atkinson. The new addition of the near vertical Air slides that launched you onto a soft air mattress, were very popular amongst all and especially with Mr Jenkins. The children showed some incredible balance and agility in both the Wipeout zone and battle beams. There were some phenomenal gymnastic skills on show with front and back flips from the children unfortunately the same cannot be said for the staff.
After running around for most of the morning it was time for a lunch stop with a welcome flapjack to replenish the energy. Once returning to School, hot chocolates greeted us on arrival followed by an array of activities as well the opportunity to relax and be creative in the Art room. A calm finish to the day with a thought-provoking chapel as ever from Mr Farquhar followed by some time to write home to our loved ones.
Sunday wouldn’t be complete without an all-singing, all-dancing Sunday roast with all the trimmings. Yet another fun-filled day at Hazlegrove, fun was definitely had by all.
