Year 5 Have A Wonderful Time In Naturesbase!
Picture this...
A farm in the peaceful Welsh countryside being suddenly invaded by 45 Year 5 children! Team-building challenges, stamp orienteering around the farm, den building, fire lighting with flint and steel, outdoor history with a focus on the iron age, feeding the lambs and chickens that perch on your head! Serving delicious meals to each other... wood fired pizzas! Playing on the hillfort and in the barn. Cuddling Cariad the cat in the tents. A 7-mile walk to the Welsh coast via an organic farm and 19th Century country mansion. Catching crabs and building them theme parks on the beach. Ice-creams! Singing silly songs around the fire. Children growing more independent, resilient and confident in an unfamiliar setting realising they can manage without mum and dad for four days. Driving back and jumping off the coach and realising how glad they are to be back! What a great trip! Thank-you Gyles and the Naturebase team, the Year 5 tutors, Mr Webster and of course our lovely Year 5s!
