A Great Evening of Music with King's School Bruton
Hazlegrove children had the privilege of joining musicians from King’s Bruton on Friday evening for our much-anticipated Joint Concert.
Held in The Hauser and Wirth Recital Hall in The Queen Elizabeth Music School at King’s Bruton, the concert saw our children join with older pupils to perform pieces such as The Adam’s Family, Hans Zimmer’s Earth and Pinkzebra’s Amazing with the Joint Military Band, Joint Orchestra and Joint Choir. Even Mrs Sclater was able to join in, dusting off her saxophone and violin for the evening.
With the added bonus of a live feed to Hazlegrove’s own “green room”, our children were given an opportunity to watch some of King’s most celebrated ensembles perform to the audience. Not to be outdone, our younger musicians carried the flag magnificently, bowling over King’s parents and staff alike with superb performances from the Flute Ensemble, String Ensemble, Samba Band and our Year 7 Rock Band, The Shcool Boys. Budding instrumentalists and singers were aplenty, as well as composers, with Hector Sheldrick and the band performing his own composition, Sleepwalker, to the crowd. Next step, Wembley!
Mrs Sclater and her team of supportive music staff were very proud of how well the Hazlegrove musicians performed, showing the wider community just what we are capable of achieving. With a packed auditorium, as well as countless parents, grandparents and friends watching via a live feed from around the world, it was certainly an evening to remember.
