Family and Friends Enjoyed a Brilliant Evening of Fireworks

Bonfire night was a huge success this year thanks to the efforts of our lovely Friends’ of Hazlegrove Committee.

With entertainment from the fantastic Year 7 rock band, a delicious selection of food including pulled pork and the yummy Hazlegrove curry as well as warming mulled cider, the evening was a jubilant coming together of the School community. Earlier in the day, the whole school had created an incredibly creative array of guys for the fire  - ranging from a gruesome hairy spider to the Scooby Doo Mystery Machine and several very ominous looking figures. The atmospheric torchlit procession to the fields and the lighting of the fire were followed by a breath-taking firework display resulting in lots of ‘ooos and ahs’! A huge thanks to Melissa Abernethy, Hannah Pain and the wonderful Friends Committee as well as to Boney Sebastian and his catering team and Estates Bursar, Gary Stoker with his crew.  

It was a full team effort and resulted in an evening that was enjoyed by all. Thank you!
