Wednesday In The Woods

After having to postpone our trip to Wales earlier this week, spirits were boosted today at the prospect of some fun outdoor team-building activities for all of the Year 5s and the weather certainly played its part. 

Clad in games kit and wellies the Year 5s had a whale of a time, working in mixed teams of 8 to tackle several outdoor pursuits, including a scavenger hunt, creating dragons from natural materials, playing man hunt, and building theme parks for bugs. Team work was at the heart of everything, and the Year 5s worked together fantastically well and had plenty of fun too! A couple of tell-tale clues perhaps followed the children home at the end of the day; the smell of wood smoke on their clothes, muddy wellies and perhaps the odd melted marshmallow smeared here and there! Oh, and smiles all round of course! A huge thank you to Mrs Ali Spilsbury who put the day's programme together at short notice!
