Year 8 Production - Love Is...

The Year 8 production is something of a highlight in the drama calendar and this summer the pupils exceeded all expectations. 

After a challenging past 16 months with no performances or audiences, it was really quite wonderful to have 3 live shows in our school theatre for an all singing all dancing extravaganza, the show was pieced together with restrictions in mind.

All singing numbers carefully socially distanced with only the correct amount of children singing at one time, full company dance numbers with no singing meant that we could watch all 51 cast members on stage performing together.

We stuck to the rules rigidly and the cast was professional and respectful of what needed to be done in order to deliver a musical for their parents, and they totally pulled it off.

The atmosphere was electric on all 3 nights, and even though we were performing to less than half our usual numbers to a socially distanced audience and no complete blackout between scenes to allow for open doors and airflow, they gave it their all.

I am so incredibly proud of our Year 8 leavers and wish them all the very best for their senior schools.
