Year 7 Pupil Raises Over £1500 With 24hr Charity Bake

Year 7 pupil, Siân M, completed her 24 hour charity bake with incredible results.

For many the weekend was a time to relax. A bank holiday and VE Day meant time in the garden or maybe a socially distanced street party. But not for Siân M. Siân set herself the challenge of a 24 hour charity bake - "My plan is to bake as many cakes as I can and sell locally as well as raising money from donations" said Siân.  

It was a long 24 hours but Siân did it. Her family note, "We are so very proud of her, all cakes are gone. She made scones and crispy cakes in the Friday with the main event with all the cakes on the Saturday (including Mississippi mud pie, lemon drizzle cakes, shortbread, Oreo truffles, Italian panettone and bakewell tarts). She raised £248 in cash donations which have now been added online and her grand total is a whopping £1505.00 as of this morning. Siân was amazing and stayed positive throughout. She did get a little emotional towards the end when she saw how much she had raised."

With an original target of £150, Siân beat her target by 1003%, an amazing achievement.

The money raised will be donated to NHS Charities Together which was chosen as Siân has a lot of family working as key workers and this is very close to her family's hearts.
