Festival of Drama and Dance Celebrated at Hazlegrove
What an amazing week of fun and creativity it has been at Hazlegrove. The Festival of Drama and Dance was a huge success and proved to us all just how important performing arts is in our wonderful school. Every day brought something new and we covered a plethora of genres within these two subjects. The visiting companies were thoroughly enjoyed by pupils and staff alike and the week seemed to whizz by.
Every member of our school had their chance to experience the Festival - from Pre-Prep tea parties to Year 8 story-boarding workshops, competitions, quiz night, 80’s mufti day and the pop-up disco, we all had plenty of fantastic events of which to be part. The week was filled with colour, imagination and so much joy.
Drama and dance are an opportunity for young people to express views, ideas and emotions in a safe environment; being free of the constraints of social media and desks, they relish their time in the theatre and confidence is soaring at Hazlegrove. Our children learn to respect each other, work together and trust in the moment, which is fundamental in an ever-increasingly, often judgemental world.
Thank you to everyone (and there were so many) who contributed to the Festival’s success. Hazlegrove parents, teachers and pupils make up a magical community and we are all so lucky to be part of it.
With very best wishes for a safe, healthy and peaceful Easter break.
