The Boarders Jet Off to the Fleet Air Arm Museum
The boarders were treated to a variety of activities this weekend.
After a good breakfast we were treated to one of Mrs Hughes thought provoking chapels to get our brains in gear for the day ahead. After letter writing children were able to choose an activity ranging from some five-a-side on the Bastion, a fun swim in the pool, a dance off in the dance studio or Christmas card and decoration making in the Art room among other things.
We were blessed with blue winter skies that really helped to energise us all for the upcoming busy week. A sumptuous feast cooked up by our amazing chefs helped to fill us up for the afternoon ahead and following some restful, quiet time we headed off to the Fleet Air Arm Museum where we wandered amongst the exhibits checking out the huge variety of helicopters and planes in all kinds of scenarios. Wandering around the mock flight deck of an aircraft carrier and experiencing the sounds and sights of planes taking off an landing was a real eye opener and not for the fainthearted.
A quick return journey to school for hot chocolate followed by a viewing of the Christmas favourite, Arthur Christmas, truly kicked off our celebration of the beginning of Advent and set the scene for the festive weeks to come.
