Year 3 meet Her Majesty the Queen

As part of the King’s Bruton 500^th Anniversary, Year 3 had the privilege to meet Her Majesty the Queen when she visited King’s Bruton to open their new state of the art Music school, named The Queen Elizabeth Music School in her honour.

The sun shone warmly and the music courtyard at King’s Bruton was a buzz with excitement. Mrs Bartlett said, ‘Despite all of our preparations, nothing could have prepared us for the thrilling experience of meeting the Queen, with her warm smile and regal presence. We are so proud of the way our children smiled, waved their flags and welcomed the Queen into the new music school.

After the Queen had heard a recital, Alice H together with the Year 3 children presented HRH with a beautiful posy of spring flowers which, in the Queen's words, matched her dress perfectly. Memories have been made today that we will never forget and cannot wait to share with you all’.
