Upper School D Day Presentation
Year 7 and 8 were treated to a hands-on experience and a chance to learn about the vast logistical success of D Day, 80 years ago.
Mr Cranfield kindly took time out from his excellent music teaching to deliver a talk to Years 7 and 8 where they learnt about the huge numbers of troops, equipment and planning which went into D Day, and made clear to all how much was needed to successfully invade France and begin the liberation of Europe. We hope that the children will take a particular interest in the commemoration events organised for this year’s significant anniversary. They were all particularly taken with Mr Cranfield’s Jeep, an original 1945 model, lovingly restored and maintained by Mr Cranfield, which he and Mrs Cranfield will be driving to Normandy for the events this June. Perhaps we might be able to spot them on the upcoming television coverage?! Huge thanks to Mr Cranfield for preparing and delivering such a brilliant talk.
