Wood Turning Experience for Lower School

A real highlight of Eco Fest was to welcome Sam Thomas from Exeter YMCA who got us thinking about sustainable energy and demonstrated his fantastic traditional wood turning techniques.

We all enjoyed hearing about the advantages of using 'breakfast power' over fossil fuels and it was fantastic to see the hand carved bowls and spoons he brought along.

We all enjoyed seeing his foot-powered lathe in action and can't wait to see the finished benches with the Lower School pupils' names carved into it.
