Reducing packaging waste - Maths
Over the last week, Mrs Hughes’ Maths sets have been putting their shape formulae to work as they tried to see how they could reduce packaging waste.
Some groups created their own products and investigated the best ways of packaging them, while others looked at existing packaging and were horrified by how much plastic (and air!) is inside it. At the end of the project, each group presented their results to Mrs Benbow, who was very impressed with their findings: ‘The work they have done on this has made me think more about how we use packaging in the school and consider where we could be more efficient and this would be a great thing to get their input on during our Eco week next term. Please do thank them all for sharing their projects with me and inspiring me to look at packaging in a different way. Amazon could learn a lesson or two from them all.’
