Year 4 Enjoyed Their English Lesson!

In Year 4, the children started to study the book ‘Street Child’. A book based on the story of Jim Jarvis, who eventually met Dr Barnado.

In this lesson, the children learned that Jim’s family, including his sick mother, were being thrown out of their house in the slums of London and had nowhere to go. The children had to empathise with the different characters and it also demonstrates to the children some of the living conditions of people during the Victorian age.
